Add/Edit Bank Accounts in the Chart of Accounts

  1. Click Ledger
  2. Click the Chart submenu

To create a new bank account

  1. Click new
    • If there's only one company managed by darwin Cloud, that company will display. If there are more than 1 company that is managed by darwin Cloud, there will be dropdown list to select the company.
  2. Enter the account number in the field.
    • Ensure that the account number is different from any existing account numbers on the list.
  3. Enter the description of the account
  4. Click save

The account added is a regular operating bank account (because is commission and is escrow were not checked).

Then new bank account will be added on the list. 

To create a new commission bank account

  1. Click new
  2. Enter the account number in the field.
    • Ensure that the account number is different from any existing account numbers on the list.
  3. Enter the description of the account
  4. Check the is commission box
  5. Click save

A new commission bank account will be added on the list. The box in the commission column is checked for the added bank account.

To create a new escrow bank account

  1. Click new
  2. Enter the account number in the field.
    • Ensure that the account number is different from any existing account numbers on the list.
  3. Enter the description of the account
  4. Check the is escrow box
  5. Select the escrow liability account from the dropdown list
  6. Click save

A new escrow bank account will be added on the list. The box in the escrow column is checked for the added bank account.

darwin cloud users can edit bank account details in the chart of accounts. The save and cancel buttons cannot be clicked and are disabled until the users make a change to any bank.

To edit a bank account details

  1. Click the field and enter the changes in the selected bank account. For instance, change the description and account number.
  2. Click the save button

To edit a bank account details and change it from regular to commission or escrow account

  1. Click the field and enter the changes in any field in the selected bank account.
  2. Check the box in the commission section
  3. Click the save button

The changes to bank account details are saved and display is updated in the chart of accounts.
